It's that time of the year again and we are looking forward to this year's Knitting and Stitching Show at the RDS in Dublin. As usual we are bringing the Pippablue shop to Dublin and you'll be able to find us at stand number G9.

The Galleries will host exhibitions in textile arts, patchwork and more, from international and local artists, as well as the Graduate Showcase and special displays from the NCAD and Limerick College.
New to this year is the Swishing Salon, where you are invited to bring along quality clothing to exchange with others, as well as demonstrations on how to revamp and 'upcycle' your garments. So you might go home with a new wardrobe!

At Pippablue, we are delighted to support local designers and artists. One of our favourite makers, is the very talented Suzanne Orford, of The Dolly Tub.
Suzanne makes a beautiful line of soaps, bath salts, balms and candles. The soaps are made from goats milk, honey and other nice bits. All of these products are completely natural, and free from the chemicals and nasties of modern life.

We are having our first sewing workshop for beginners at Pippablue on Sunday the 9th May. This class is aimed at people who have sewing machines but don't know how to use them. We will be showing you the basics and making a reversible market bag, and hopefully give you the skills and the confidence to start sewing!
If you are interested in taking this class pop into the shop or contact us via e-mail. Spaces are limited, so we will take bookings on a first come first serve basis!
Other upcoming classes will include knitting aran cables, piecing together a knitted garment, hand piecing patchwork, and many more!
And one more thing! The Irish Patchwork Society's western branch is holding an exhibition at the Galway City Museum from Saturday 1st. May until Monday 31st May, so if your in town this weekend, why not head down to the Spanish Parade and check out the work of these very talented artists.
The fabric designer,Tanya Whelan, will be in attendance. She will be holding free workshops, teaching how to make her Metro Bag.
I am a big fan of Tanya's fabric range, but haven't tried her patterns yet. No doubt, I will return with lots of new projects.
